The Murray family has a strong presence in Stittsville with family owned businesses such as Ryan Murray Construction, Shouldice Mechanical, MJK Heating and Cooling, Generation Sheet Metal and Murray Heating and Cooling. We are a family of entrepreneurs and are all hard working, honest people.

Kerry started in the construction industry in 2002 when he became a subcontractor and installed interior railings for new home builders throughout the City of Ottawa.

In 2003, Kerry began installing decks, railings, columns, and other exterior finishes for most new home builders in the City of Ottawa. He spent years perfecting his craft, and in 2011, stepped into a supervisory role. At that time, he was responsible for scheduling work in with subcontractors and builders, ordering required materials, confirming drawings and plans, and ensuring the safety of his workers while on site. When the service department began to slip, Kerry was brought in to rectify the situation. He became the point of contact for all service related issues and having them resolved, while supervising up to three service technicians.

Kerry was promoted to the position of Construction Manager in 2012. His responsibilities included budget planning, tender submissions and negotiations, estimating, staffing, construction and service scheduling, inventory control, health and safety policy and programs along with website design. Kerry would spend 8 years in this position, until he resigned in 2020 to start Mjolnir Construction.

Kerry is a certified National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), having achieved the accreditation through the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) in May of 2017, making him one of the first in Ontario to receive such a title. This would replace his previous Construction Health and Safety Officer certification which was awarded to him in September of 2011.

Mjolnir Construction was started when Kerry saw an opportunity to bring his extensive knowledge and experience working alongside the homebuilder, straight to the homeowner.
